2008 Coastal Highway

The highly anticipated Coastal Highway (
Carretera
Costera), is now open!!! Thats right! The Coastal highway is open!!
Millions of people just got a lot closer to Puerto Penasco. The road is
paved all the way and it is a very good quality road. You can now drive
all the way to El Golfo from Rocky Point in about 1 hour and 15
mintues. Better yet Yuma can make it to Rocky Point in about 2 1/2
hours. El Centro, CA. about 3 1/2, and San Diego about 5 1/4 hours.TIMES:
San Diego to El Centro time 1:45 hrs. El Centro to Yuma 1 hour. Yuma to
El Golfo 1:15 hour, EL Golfo to Rocky Point 1:15 hours.POPULATION STATISTICS:Mexicali
is now just 3 hours away. "The city itself had a 2005 census population
of 653,046, whereas the municipality's population was 895,962. It is
the 13th largest municipality in Mexico as of the Census 2005 with
population estimates exceeding one million alone" (Wikipedia).Yuma Population - 200,000El Centro Population - 41,000San
Diego Population - "The state of California put the city's population
at 1,336,865. It is the second largest city in California and the
eighth largest city in the United States, by population. It is the
